Sterling King Apartments – Building 2
The Whitmore Company, a Williamsburg, Virginia based real estate development company, is pleased to announce they have entered into an agreement with Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority to purchase a very important and highly visible vacant tract of land located in the downtown area of Portsmouth. This parcel is located on Court Street which is a major entry portal to the downtown area from Interstate 264.
It is the intent of The Whitmore Company to build a four-story mixed-use building on the site. The building will be designed by Mr. Bryan Moore, DBA Architects of McKinney, Texas. Mr. Moore has extensive experience in the marketplace having designed The Myrtles at Olde Towne, The Heights at Olde Towne, and numerous new homes in Park View.
The actual building will have the very urban appearance of a New York brownstone building. Numerous stoops shall provide entry to the first floor apartments. The building shall be elevator-served, and shall have 63 apartments being one and two-bedroom units. This building shall serve to add numerous new residents to the pedestrian fabric of downtown Portsmouth. In addition, the building will serve as the offices for The Whitmore Company.
The Sterling Court Apartments will offer to its residents many of the traditional amenities, such as workout facilities, business center, media room and conference facilities.
It is anticipated that construction on The Sterling King Apartments shall begin after the first of the year 2014 and take approximately 12 months for completion.
